This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +1 more state.
• Lead and oversee engineers in the development and maintenance of scalable machine learning data infrastructure.
• Define and implement architectural patterns and best practices for data ingestion, processing, storage, and access.
• Collaborate with machine learning engineers, data scientists, data platform engineers, and product teams to convert data requirements into technical specifications.
• Analyze existing systems to pinpoint bottlenecks and opportunities for improvement in data pipelines and analytical platforms.
• Design efficient data flows and system architectures utilizing expertise in data pipeline development.
• Evaluate and integrate various technologies and tools to enhance the machine learning data infrastructure.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
• Ensure adherence to data governance policies, security standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Participate in strategic planning and road mapping in alignment with company objectives.
• Identify and resolve potential issues through detailed problem-solving approaches.
• Conduct qualitative research to comprehend user needs and inform infrastructure development.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Over 10 years of experience in data engineering, software development, or a related field with a focus on machine learning data infrastructure.
• Proven experience in leading and managing technical teams.
• Expertise in designing, building, and operating large-scale data systems and analytical platforms.
• Proficient in multiple programming languages relevant to data engineering, including Python, Scala, and Java.
• Solid understanding of AI and machine learning concepts along with their data requirements.
• Ability to identify system requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions.
• Familiarity with Agile Methodology and hands-on experience in an agile environment.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to quality and accuracy.
• Previous experience in Robotics or Autonomous Driving is preferred.
