Principal Threat Researcher

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Define and continuously enhance research projects to assess new attack strategies, their impact on customers, and sources of detection data.

• Evaluate threats across at least one operating system and prominent Cloud/SaaS providers such as AWS, Microsoft 365, and Okta.

• Examine the technical elements and detection perspectives related to specific threats.

• Develop automated attack simulations, create test scripts, and produce proofs of concept for novel detections.

• Work alongside detection engineers, intelligence analysts, and threat hunters to establish detection strategies and prioritize tasks.

• Record and present research conclusions and operational outcomes to both internal and external stakeholders.

• Guide junior team members and colleagues engaged in research activities.

• Shape engineering initiatives, product strategy, vendor telemetry, and customer protection efforts.

⛳️ Requirements

• Basic understanding of AI/ML technologies with experience in leveraging, securing, or marketing AI-driven solutions.

• Over 12 years of experience in security research leading to actionable results.

• In-depth security knowledge in at least one operating system: Windows, macOS, or Linux.

• Proficiency with commercial Endpoint Detection & Response (EDR) platforms.

• Security experience with at least one cloud service provider, including AWS, GCP, or Azure.

• Familiarity with cloud architectures and cloud-based detection systems.

• Software development experience in at least one scripting language, such as PowerShell or Python.

• Software development experience in at least one compiled or assembled language, like C, C++, Rust, or Go.

• Experience in managing code with version control systems such as git/GitHub.
