Principal Supplier Quality Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Minnesota.

📋 Description

• Oversee supplier qualification, certification, assessment, monitoring, and development initiatives.

• Track supplier quality performance, evaluate quality data and trends, and pinpoint systemic issues and opportunities for improvement.

• Manage supplier escape incidents and complex quality problem resolution, including root cause analysis, containment, corrective actions, and preventive measures.

• Collaborate with suppliers and cross-functional teams to execute corrective and preventive actions using 8D and Red-X methodologies.

• Conduct or assist with supplier audits, assessments, source inspections, material release activities, Corrective Action Boards, and supplier quality evaluations.

• Utilize PFMEA, MSA, Process Flow, Control Plans, SPC, and other risk-based quality techniques.

• Assess supplier readiness and capabilities for work transfers, process modifications, Resourcing Gates, and PPAP approval.

• Work alongside Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Program Management, and other stakeholders to alleviate supplier risks.

• Influence and mentor suppliers and internal stakeholders to promote sustainable improvements and enhance supplier processes.

• Assist in supplier continuous improvement efforts and quality programs while ensuring adherence to RTX policies, customer specifications, quality management systems, and industry standards.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical discipline, coupled with a minimum of 5 years of pertinent professional experience.

• Previous experience in supplier quality and development, including supplier qualification, assessments, quality audits, monitoring supplier performance, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and continuous improvement efforts.

• U.S. citizenship is required since only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

• Preferred: experience in aerospace and defense or another highly regulated manufacturing sector.

• Preferred: familiarity with APQP, PFMEA, MSA, Process Flow, Control Plans, SPC, and PPAP.

• Preferred: experience with supplier audits, assessments, qualification/certification, source inspection, or supplier performance management.

• Preferred: experience with 8D, Red-X, Root Cause Analysis, and Corrective/Preventive Actions.

• Preferred: understanding of Quality Management Systems, relevant quality regulations and standards, risk management, Lean Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.

• Preferred: experience working directly with suppliers to enhance quality, resolve complex issues, and boost process capabilities.
