Principal Specialist, Procurement

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mississippi.

📋 Description

• Directly report to the Senior Manager of Acquisitions

• Assist various programs within the Advanced Product Solutions (APS) division of Raytheon

• Oversee low-volume and medium to high-complexity domestic subcontracts

• Act as the representative for the Supply Chain organization on both functional and cross-functional teams

• Serve as the main point of contact for communication between internal personnel and supplier cross-functional teams regarding procurement activities

• Negotiate and manage subcontract types, including Firm Fixed Price, Cost Reimbursement, and Time and Materials contracts, along with development/R&D initiatives

• Assess, identify, and select suppliers that meet Raytheon's standards

• Build business-partner relationships with suppliers

• Collaborate with Program Office representatives and Engineering to devise and execute procurement strategies

• Create subcontract Statements of Work

• Solicit both competitive and single/sole-source proposals

• Conduct source-selection and price/cost analyses to ensure fair and reasonable pricing

• Track subcontractor performance metrics and suggest or execute corrective measures

• Prepare subcontract documentation in compliance with company, customer, FAR, and DFAR regulations

⛳️ Requirements

• Generally requires a University degree and 5 years of relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related discipline coupled with a minimum of 3 years’ experience

• Proficiency in reading drawing specifications

• Experience in supplier management and leading formal negotiations related to price, schedule, and supplier exceptions to contractual flow-downs

• Familiarity with the SAP software application

• Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee or asylee) or qualified to obtain necessary export authorizations

• NCMA Certification is preferred

• Active DOD Clearance is preferred

• Experience with FAR and DFAR regulations is preferred

• Proficiency in delivering verbal and/or written presentations to key stakeholders is preferred

• Experience leading executive and program-level supplier reviews is preferred
