Principal Specialist, Procurement

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• Oversee the Procure-to-Pay process for indirect materials.

• Implement procurement activities, such as preparing RFPs, negotiating with suppliers, analyzing costs, and managing purchase orders.

• Address client queries regarding order status, modifications, or cancellations.

• Coordinate sourcing efforts to acquire goods, materials, supplies, and services.

• Assess supplier performance and ensure compliance with contracts.

• Troubleshoot issues related to delays, shortages, or quality to maintain a continuous supply.

• Prepare and evaluate price proposals, financial reports, and procurement analytics.

• Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders and suppliers to promote cost-effective procurement solutions.

• Uphold adherence to company policies.

• Participate in ongoing process enhancement initiatives.


⛳️ Requirements

• Generally requires a University Degree in Business Administration, International Business, Industrial Engineering, Logistics, or a related discipline with at least 5 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree in a similar field with a minimum of 3 years of experience.

• At least 3 years of experience using SAP procurement software or comparable ERP systems in a supply chain or procurement setting, such as Oracle, Epicor, PeopleSoft, APEX, or PRISM.

• Minimum of 3 years of experience overseeing end-to-end procurement processes, including RFPs, supplier negotiations, and contract management.

• Advanced proficiency in English.

• Exceptional communication skills, able to convey information fluently and professionally in both written and spoken English.

• Experience in evaluating supplier performance, ensuring contract adherence, and addressing delivery challenges.

• Familiarity with SAP Procurement functions, MRP, Business Warehouse, or Business Objects.

• Knowledge of Lean principles and their application in procurement and supply chain operations.

• Understanding of contractual terms and conditions, with a strong emphasis on compliance.
