Principal Solutions Architect, Professional Services – West Coast Preferred

📋 Description

• Develop and formalize repeatable reference architecture patterns for self-hosted and air-gapped deployments, MCP/AI agent environments, IDP integrations, and secure supply chain workflows.

• Convert reference architectures into customer-facing technical materials, SOW templates, and successful implementation patterns.

• Collaborate with product, marketing, and revenue teams to embed services into go-to-market strategies and align delivery with Docker's AI platform roadmap.

• Identify offerings that promote product expansion, renewals, and long-term customer value.

• Assist Partnerships & Alliances in selecting, onboarding, and empowering technical integration partners, system integrators, and service delivery partners.

• Advise enterprise clients on containerization, AI workflows, and secure software supply chains.

• Lead technical discovery and architecture engagements across enterprise integration layers.

• Design and implement self-hosted Docker deployments within air-gapped, regulated, and complex enterprise settings.

• Create and oversee the implementation of agentic AI toolchains, including MCP architecture, orchestration, observability integration, and secure deployment methodologies.

• Position Docker as a key strategic thought leadership partner.

• Manage or oversee partner delivery of service engagements to ensure technical objectives are achieved.

• Foster cross-functional alignment and decision-making among stakeholders.

• Convert field insights into product, services, roadmap, and partner competencies.

• Scope, define SOWs, deliver, and supervise customer service engagements.

• Provide field feedback to institutionalize ongoing improvement.

⛳️ Requirements

• 7+ years in a Professional Services Solution Architect, Technical Consultant, or a similar role at a SaaS/infrastructure company or consulting firm.

• Proven experience in architecting and deploying self-hosted and air-gapped deployment architectures.

• Familiarity with local image registries, offline toolchain setup, network-isolated Kubernetes clusters, and compliance-driven infrastructure constraints.

• Enterprise integration experience with Identity Providers such as Okta, Azure AD, and LDAP/Active Directory.

• Proficient in OIDC, SAML, and SSO.

• Experience in RBAC design within complex, multi-tenant enterprise environments.

• Working knowledge of Model Context Protocol (MCP), encompassing server/client architecture, tool and resource orchestration, and secure containerized deployment strategies.

• Hands-on experience with AI/ML workflows, LLM deployment, and agentic AI architectures.

• Awareness of Docker's AI platform roadmap, including AI agent containerization, model provenance, and AI supply chain security.

• Comprehensive understanding of container and software supply chain security, including Docker Hardened Images, Secure Supply Chain, SBOM generation, image signing and attestation, vulnerability management, and runtime governance.

• Exceptional facilitation and stakeholder management abilities.

• Experience leading architecture discussions with executives and influencing senior stakeholders without formal authority.

• Direct experience in delivering high-quality services engagements while achieving revenue and ARR growth targets.

• Acknowledged by enterprise clients as a strategic technical advisor.

• Bonus: Experience in AI platform architecture, system integrator or consultancy enablement, Fortune 500 consulting in regulated sectors, and AI security architecture engagements.
