Principal Solution Architect – Managed Services

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the design, provisioning, and operationalization of cloud-native data solutions on AWS and Azure utilizing modern data stack technologies.

• Convert client business requirements into scalable, secure, and high-performance data platform architectures.

• Ensure timely delivery of client engagements, maintaining scope and providing measurable business value across various customer accounts.

• Develop and prioritize Epics, Stories, and Tasks to enhance client data platforms.

• Recognize opportunities to automate, optimize, and expand the capabilities and service offerings of data platforms.

• Lead teams managing modern data platforms that encompass streaming, data lakes, analytics, and associated technologies.

• Offer technical guidance during client workshops, architecture reviews, and discovery sessions.

• Maintain deliverable quality through code reviews, documentation, governance, and performance tuning.

• Collaborate with practice and account leaders to broaden engagements and standardize delivery methodologies.

• Contribute to the development of intellectual property, accelerators, delivery frameworks, and technical playbooks.

• Advise senior client stakeholders on data platform strategies and roadmaps.

• Mentor and coach engineers, effectively delegate tasks, and promote continuous improvement.

• Establish and refine practice standards, reusable assets, and delivery frameworks.

• Deliver technical presentations and architecture recommendations tailored for executive audiences.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of experience in data platform engineering, architecture, or managed services, with significant hands-on experience in enterprise cloud environments.

• Advanced proficiency in Snowflake, AWS, Azure, and/or Databricks.

• Extensive experience in architecting and managing cloud-native data warehouses like Snowflake and/or Redshift for large user bases.

• Direct experience with S3, ADLS, Cassandra, or other NoSQL storage systems.

• Hands-on experience with Spark, Kafka, event/streaming pipelines, Matillion, Fivetran, HVR, AWS Data Migration Services, Azure Data Factory, or equivalent tools.

• Practical experience with Airflow, AWS Managed Airflow, or Luigi.

• Strong SQL skills, including the ability to write, debug, and optimize complex queries.

• Extensive experience with infrastructure as code using Terraform or CloudFormation.

• Experience in automating repetitive administrative tasks with Python or a similar programming language.

• Familiarity with CI/CD frameworks and tools such as Bitbucket, GitHub, Flyway, and Liquibase.

• Exceptional troubleshooting and performance tuning abilities in complex, multi-stack environments.

• Proven track record of delivering projects for external clients in a professional services or consulting context.

• Ability to decompose complex issues into structured, actionable steps and facilitate resolution.

• Strong proficiency in written and verbal communication in English, including the capacity to deliver detailed technical presentations to executive audiences.

• Demonstrated experience as a technical team leader and mentor.

• Proven capability to work across distributed, cross-functional global teams.

• Proven ability to handle multiple priorities and achieve high-quality results with minimal supervision.

• Established history of creating, challenging, and refining processes and procedures.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience (as listed under 'Education – If desired').

• Preferred: Snowflake SnowPro Core Certification or Snowflake Advanced Certification.

• Preferred: Experience with data visualization tools and operations related to data science or machine learning platforms.

• Preferred: Experience across various industry verticals in managed services or platform operations.

• Preferred: Previous experience working in global or remote teams.
