Principal Software Engineer – Windows EDR

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Estonia, +3 more countries.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and sustain Windows endpoint sensor components utilizing C++ and C#.

• Enhance and build upon telemetry collection, detection, prevention, and response capabilities for EDR products.

• Create software that functions in both user-mode and kernel-mode environments.

• Design and oversee Windows drivers, system services, and other fundamental platform components.

• Implement new capabilities for endpoint protection and consistently enhance existing detection technologies.

• Troubleshoot and resolve intricate issues related to Windows internals, kernel interactions, memory management, and system performance.

• Collaborate with detection engineers and security researchers to convert threat intelligence into actionable product capabilities.

• Optimize performance, stability, and resource utilization of endpoints across extensive deployments.

• Engage in architecture reviews, code assessments, and engineering design discussions.

• Contribute to the establishment of engineering best practices, quality initiatives, and ongoing team improvement.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Cybersecurity, a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.

• Professional experience in software development on Microsoft Windows; expertise in systems-level or endpoint software is particularly advantageous.

• Proficient in C++ and familiar with C#, or the capacity to quickly learn C#.

• Strong grasp of Windows internals, operating system architecture, or system-level programming principles.

• Experience in developing software utilizing Windows APIs and native operating system services.

• Background in Windows driver development, kernel-mode programming, or closely related low-level Windows technologies.

• Debugging and troubleshooting experience with WinDbg or similar diagnostic tools.

• Experience in contributing to production-quality software or services used by customers or internal teams.

• Understanding of secure software development practices and a commitment to building reliable, trustworthy systems.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, along with the capacity to communicate technical concepts clearly with colleagues and partners.

• Proficiency in effectively communicating in both written and spoken English in a collaborative engineering setting.
