Principal Software Engineer, PSA CX

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Assist in the creation and development of innovative cloud-based software architectures.

• Take ownership of and deliver comprehensive features, encompassing design, architecture, implementation, testability, and deployment.

• Provide constructive feedback on technical designs, proposals, and code.

• Evaluate existing applications and databases to identify opportunities for enhancement.

• Design and develop APIs that enhance web and mobile user experiences.

• Engage throughout the software development lifecycle, guiding features from concept to production release.

• Collaborate with various teams to devise effective solutions.

• Diagnose software issues and debug a substantial codebase.

• Create and execute unit and integration tests.

• Contribute to technical documentation to enhance the maintainability of software assets.

• Design and construct a scalable backend architecture for the PSA Set Registry, a consumer-facing platform dedicated to organizing, competing, and celebrating PSA-graded collections.

• Collaborate with product, design, and cross-functional teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of experience in software engineering, specifically in building backend software.

• Familiarity with microservices, event-driven architectures, and batch processing.

• Strong expertise in Python programming.

• Solid understanding of database and data modeling principles, particularly with relational databases like PostgreSQL and NoSQL databases such as DynamoDB.

• More than 5 years of experience with AWS technologies including Lambda, SQS, SNS, EventBridge, and API Gateway.

• Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, and ECS.

• Proficient with infrastructure as code tools like CDK/CloudFormation or Terraform.

• Proven experience working with Engineering and Product teams to translate intricate business requirements into clean, extensible APIs.

• Excellent technical, analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.

• Ability to visualize and document processes effectively.

• Knowledge of security, documentation, and monitoring best practices.

• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.

• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States; Collectors utilizes e-Verify.
