Principal Software Engineer – Core Engine

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.

📋 Description

• Enhance the quality of the C#/.NET integration, encompassing GC, JIT, AOT, and runtime libraries.

• Design, prototype, and execute crucial technical solutions.

• Investigate and lead initiatives to boost performance and reliability.

• Promote standard practices for both internal developers and Unity users.

• Ensure timely delivery and suitability of the C#/.NET integration, including JIT and AOT toolchains.

• Provide technical leadership within the game engine domain at Unity and assist in shaping the team's long-term vision and technical roadmap.

• Develop, monitor, and convey essential metrics to inform resource allocation decisions.

• Relay the team's strategies to both technical and non-technical audiences, internally and externally.

• Offer feedback and solutions to users via documentation, forums, bug reports, and internal support channels.

• Mentor the development and performance of team members.

• Promote best practices for internal developers and Unity users.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive knowledge in C# and C++.

• Expertise in the compiler domain, with a strong grasp of compiler toolchain technology.

• Solid understanding of hardware architecture.

• Experience in game engine development, especially with proprietary engines.

• Outstanding verbal and written communication abilities, with the capacity to foster relationships with global stakeholders.

• Proven experience in developing cross-platform code, particularly between ARM and x64 architectures.

• Background in collaborating with remote and international teams.

• Previous experience using Unity.

• Adequate command of English for professional verbal and written communication.
