Principal Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Design, configure, and sustain Workday solutions that accommodate both global and local enhancements as well as change requests.

• Assist in the Talent Development and Performance functional domains.

• Evaluate HR and user business requirements, transforming them into effective Workday solutions.

• Present the proposed solutions to stakeholders and secure approval for any modifications.

• Design, develop, test, maintain, and enhance Workday integrations utilizing Workday Studio, EIB, Core Connectors, Cloud Connect, and Workday Web Services.

• Create and support PECI/PICOF payroll integrations, benefits carrier feeds, and connections with ATS, Payroll, Financial, Time Tracking, and Time & Absence systems.

• Collaborate with middleware/iPaaS teams using platforms such as Boomi, MuleSoft, or Workato.

• Construct and sustain Workday reports, Discovery Boards, dashboards, worklets, embedded reports, scorecards, and BIRT reports.

• Monitor and resolve integration failures, report issues, scheduled-process errors, and discrepancies in data.

• Conduct root-cause analysis and enhance performance by minimizing redundant or inactive objects.

• Partner with HCM, Payroll, Benefits, Recruiting, and Talent teams to develop technical solutions.

• Maintain comprehensive documentation, including data mappings, error-handling processes, and support runbooks.

• Implement Workday security and governance practices, supporting SOX/audit requirements, access reviews, and change-control documentation.

• Assist in bi-annual Workday releases by evaluating, testing, and updating integrations, reports, and configurations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Approximately 4–5 years of pertinent Workday integration development experience or an equivalent demonstration of capability.

• Proficiency in Workday Studio, EIB, Core Connectors, Cloud Connect, Workday Web Services (SOAP/REST APIs), XSLT, XML, and XPath.

• Familiarity with PECI, PICOF, payroll/benefits interface patterns, Workday Business Process Framework (BPF), and event-driven configuration.

• Experience in integrating Workday with ATS, Payroll, Financials, Time & Absence, or similar third-party systems.

• Strong background in Advanced, Matrix, Composite, and Trending Reports, calculated fields, Report Writer, RaaS, Discovery Boards, Workday Dashboards, worklets, embedded reports, scorecards, and BIRT.

• Capability to analyze and resolve integration and reporting challenges while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.

• Experience in Agile/Kanban delivery environments is preferred.

• A degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field is advantageous but not mandatory.

• Equivalent professional experience, technical training, certifications, or demonstrated expertise will also be taken into account.
