Principal Software Engineer – AI-Native

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design and construct production systems utilizing a multi-language stack, including C#/.NET services, Python for AI and data pipelines, and occasional TypeScript.

• Set a benchmark for an AI-focused, high technical standard throughout the broader engineering team, leading by example through craftsmanship rather than relying solely on organizational authority.

• Create and promote the use of offline evaluation frameworks (such as test suites, golden datasets, and regression harnesses integrated into CI/CD) for LLM-based and other non-deterministic components.

• Develop online evaluation and monitoring systems that continuously evaluate live model and system performance in production, including detecting drift and regression.

• Collaborate with engineering leadership to identify systemic risks in AI features, including reliability, correctness, and drift, and drive solutions to address these issues.

• Oversee architecture reviews for significant initiatives and mentor senior and staff engineers on system design, evaluation methodologies, and AI-focused practices.

• Prototype and deploy new AI functionalities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of professional experience in software engineering.

• Proficiency across backend and AI/ML systems, with experience in various combinations of C#/.NET, Python, and TypeScript.

• Familiarity with LLM observability, prompt and response evaluation, or testing of agentic systems.

• Proven history of establishing technical standards that are adopted by other engineers and teams.

• Excellent communication skills, capable of aligning engineers and leadership around a unified technical vision.

• Comfort in an AI-centric engineering environment, including the use of agentic coding tools like Claude Code.

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred; equivalent practical experience will also be accepted in place of a formal degree.
