Junior Full Stack Engineer – AI

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Africa.

📋 Description

• Develop the product encompassing backend, frontend, and AI pipeline.

• Deliver features end-to-end, from backend coding to user interface design.

• Engage with technologies such as React, Node/Express, Postgres, and AWS.

• Construct the platform's AI pipeline starting from the first week.

• Collaborate on prompt engineering, context management, and AI evaluations.

• Utilize AI-oriented development tools like Claude Code or Cursor.

• Identify and resolve bugs within the production environment.

• Work alongside Sentry, CloudWatch, and Postgres.

• Collaborate closely with the CTO and grant team to devise solutions addressing actual user challenges.

• Receive direct technical guidance and engage in code reviews.

• Gradually assume full ownership of complete features and technical challenges.

• Enhance the timeline from project initiation to the submission of grant applications through dependable features, automation, and product enhancements.

⛳️ Requirements

• 1–3 years of professional experience as a Software Engineer, or recent university graduate with notable technical projects.

• Strong foundational knowledge in TypeScript and/or JavaScript.

• Eagerness and readiness to work across the entire stack, including React, Node / Express, Postgres, and AWS.

• A keen interest in understanding how production software is developed and maintained.

• High self-motivation with a proactive approach to problem-solving.

• Comfort in receiving constructive criticism and applying it to enhance technical abilities.

• AI-native software development mindset, with familiarity with tools like Claude Code or Cursor.

• User-centered perspective, focusing on creating software that serves real users effectively.

• Strong curiosity, ownership, and readiness to embrace greater responsibilities.

• Proficiency in German at B1 level or above is a plus.

• English CV required for application.
