Principal Security Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Develop and establish a comprehensive cybersecurity architecture practice.

• Create specialized domains in Cloud Security, Application Security, Network Security, and various other cybersecurity fields.

• Generate holistic and reference architectures.

• Shape roadmaps to align with business goals, address the evolving threat landscape, and assess the risk register.

• Connect architecture and engineering by converting abstract ideas into practical, beneficial, and feasible solutions.

• Evaluate current engagements and environments to identify gaps and opportunities.

• Enhance architectural opportunities with metadata to highlight high-impact initiatives.

• Secure alignment from leadership and obtain funding for prioritized initiatives.

• Manage hands-on projects.

• Mentor and support peer architects and engineers.

• Collaborate across Cybersecurity, IT, and Engineering as a technical representative.

• Propose a strategy for the architecture practice within 30 days.

• Operationalize the architecture practice and deliver initial reference architectures and domain roadmaps within 90 days.

• Compile and present a prioritized roadmap of cybersecurity opportunities to executive leadership within 180 days.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of experience in cybersecurity, enterprise architecture, or security engineering.

• Demonstrated success in contributing to, establishing, or leading an architecture practice.

• Extensive expertise across various security domains, including Cloud Security, Application Security, Identity Security, and Network Security.

• Experience in developing reference architectures and strategic roadmaps.

• Strong technical foundation and the ability to remain hands-on.

• Capability to translate abstract architectural concepts into actionable engineering solutions.

• Experience in aligning security initiatives with business goals.

• Proven ability to secure leadership support and funding.

• Familiarity with industry frameworks such as SABSA, NIST, and ISO.

• Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills.

• Ability to mentor colleagues, lead cross-functional initiatives, and influence stakeholders without direct authority.
