Principal – Python Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Morocco.

📋 Description

• Develop software services and APIs utilizing Python frameworks, preferably FastAPI.

• Design and oversee secure cloud infrastructure from a software engineering viewpoint.

• Manage essential networking components, including WAF and CDN.

• Handle infrastructure as code through Terraform.

• Deploy scalable services using Kubernetes, specifically AKS, along with Docker.

• Implement comprehensive data solutions.

• Ensure accurate data flow across real-time architectures using Kafka/Kinesis as well as batch architectures.

• Establish technical direction and align core system designs with strategic objectives.

• Promote the adoption of Python language and technology across various teams.

• Define and advocate for best practices in engineering, testing, quality, security, observability, and performance.

• Collaborate on CI/CD workflows and automated deployment pipelines.

• Support and monitor vital production systems.

• Lead the resolution and post-mortem analysis of complex technical challenges.

• Foster continuous process enhancement within Agile teams.

• Collaborate closely with leadership, including the CEO and COO, as well as with clients.

• Mentor and guide others while working within an agile team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive knowledge of software design and architectural principles.

• Proficiency in addressing complex infrastructure and data modeling challenges.

• Experience in setting technical direction and conveying architectures to various stakeholders.

• Minimum of 7 years of experience with Azure and cloud infrastructure, including Networking, WAF, and CDN.

• At least 7 years of experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.

• Practical experience with AKS/Kubernetes and Docker.

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in Python development.

• Comprehensive expertise in organizing Python projects and developing web services with FastAPI.

• Proficient in advanced debugging, performance tuning, and troubleshooting high-throughput Python applications.

• Knowledgeable in modern testing methodologies, automated testing frameworks, and quality assurance strategies.

• Experience in integrating security into the software development lifecycle.

• Skilled in optimizing Python applications and data pipelines for performance, resource efficiency, and observability.

• Familiarity with CI/CD workflows, DevOps capabilities, and automated deployment pipelines.

• Deep knowledge in supporting, monitoring, and managing critical production software systems.

• Expert-level execution within Agile frameworks.

• Outstanding technical communication skills in English.

• Experience in developing AI-enabled applications, especially recommendation or conversational systems.

• Familiarity with evaluation frameworks for LLM or AI systems.

• Clear understanding of the distinctions between AI systems and traditional deterministic systems.
