Principal Project Engineer – Site Implementation Planning Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Coordinate activities between engineering teams and subcontractors.

• Collaborate closely with program management and customer representatives.

• Direct technical performance and ensure adherence to schedules for the Radar System Replacement (RSR) program.

• Confirm subcontractor quality and assess implementation and installation documentation.

• Ensure adherence to Government standards.

• Provide direction and support for the planning and installation of upgraded radar infrastructure.

• Maintain the RSR System Level Implementation Plan (SLIP).

• Supervise the submission and approval processes for Site-Specific Implementation Plans (SSIP).

• Ensure SSIP alignment with program requirements, logistical and operational needs, alongside RTX and Government standards.

• Convert subcontractor site survey results into actionable closure plans.

• Collaborate with subcontractor and customer/Government personnel to deliver ATS equipment plans encompassing installation, testing, and certification.

• Lead site preparation efforts by subcontractors and ensure readiness for radar equipment installation.

• Oversee site logistics, including access, tools, materials, and equipment delivery.

• Guide subcontractor performance regarding quality in the maintenance and sustainability of installed radar infrastructure.

• Coordinate second-level engineering responses to any deployed equipment anomalies.

• Assist the program chief engineer in overseeing RTX engineering functions, ensuring alignment with Government authorization, budget, and schedule.

• Aid in the development and delivery workflow of Government CDRLs.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field with a minimum of 5 years of experience.

• U.S. citizenship is required; only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under these programs/contracts.

• Project management experience is preferred.

• Experience in site preparation activities, including infrastructure development (power, structure, environment, etc.) is preferred.

• Experience in interpreting site surveys and translating findings into actionable plans is preferred.

• Experience in managing and/or executing surveillance radar system upgrades, repairs, and installations is preferred.

• Familiarity with logistics related to radar system upgrades, repairs, and installations is preferred.

• Experience in coordinating program performance tasks with U.S. Government personnel (or similar) is preferred.

• Experience in reporting program performance to senior leadership personnel within the U.S. Government is preferred.

• Experience in overseeing multiple engineering disciplines on a U.S. Government program is preferred.

• Experience in overseeing and being accountable for the performance of engineering personnel on a U.S. Government program is preferred.
