
Principal Product Manager – Dealer Marketplace

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +1 more country.
• Take ownership of the long-term vision, strategy, and roadmap for OPENLANE’s dealer marketplace, ensuring alignment with company goals.
• Oversee the complete product lifecycle, from discovery and validation to delivery and optimization.
• Conduct extensive discovery, customer research, and competitive analysis to guide strategic direction.
• Prioritize the product portfolio based on customer value, business impact, and technical feasibility.
• Collaborate closely with Engineering and Design to assess technical options and ensure high-quality execution.
• Establish, track, and report on KPIs related to EBITDA, engagement, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
• Facilitate communication at the executive level regarding product strategy, trade-offs, and performance metrics.
• Uphold a high standard for product rigor and outcomes.
• Mentor, coach, and assist in the growth and leadership of the product team as it expands.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Design, Sales, Operations, Finance, Legal, Customer Support, and senior leadership.
• Contribute to attracting and developing top product talent as the team grows.
• 8+ years of experience in Product Management, with at least 3 years in a Senior, Lead, or Principal capacity.
• Demonstrated leadership experience, including building, coaching, and enhancing product talent.
• Proven success in defining, launching, and scaling impactful digital products that deliver measurable business outcomes.
• Experience in managing complex product domains throughout their entire lifecycle.
• Strong strategic thinking skills, linking product decisions to overarching company objectives.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication capabilities, including the ability to deliver executive-level presentations.
• Background in leading structured product discovery and customer research initiatives.
• Strong analytical abilities, utilizing data to inform prioritization and decision-making.
• Comfortable operating in environments of ambiguity and changing priorities, with a proactive approach.
• Capability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority.
• Experience with wholesale auto auctions, dealer marketplaces, or inventory/sales management systems is a plus.
• Technical fluency in collaborating with engineering on system design decisions is a plus.
• Familiarity with Agile, Kanban, Lean, or Scaled Agile (SAFe) methodologies is a plus.
• A strong professional network to leverage for talent acquisition is a plus.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Technology, or a related field is a plus.
