This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +1 more country.
• Take charge of the strategy, roadmap, and implementation for a significant Capital Platform area with substantial business implications.
• Direct multi-quarter, cross-team projects that require comprehensive systems thinking and the ability to operate in significant uncertainty.
• Create scalable and configurable platform features for a variety of capital partners, ensuring no fragmentation or custom delivery.
• Collaborate with engineering on product architecture, trade-offs, sequencing, and the long-term development of capital platform systems.
• Influence related platform and vertical teams to fulfill the needs of capital partners across various products.
• Leverage data, customer insights, and domain expertise to make strong product decisions and prioritize effectively.
• Provide robust, enterprise-grade solutions that satisfy reliability, compliance, and operational standards.
• Work in partnership with product, engineering, finance, compliance, capital markets, banks, credit unions, and institutional investors.
• Develop systems that enable capital to flow reliably, transparently, and at scale through Upstart’s AI lending marketplace.
• Over 7 years of product management experience, or equivalent demonstrated scope and impact leading complex, multi-quarter projects.
• Proven experience in leading initiatives at a Principal / Staff-level individual contributor capacity.
• Established track record of designing and delivering platforms or shared systems, rather than just isolated features.
• Familiarity with intricate B2B or B2B2C workflows, including onboarding, configuration, payments, compliance, and reporting.
• Capability to function effectively in regulated, high-reliability environments.
• Strong technical acumen and experience collaborating closely with engineering on architecture and system design trade-offs.
• Ability to foster alignment and execution across multiple teams and stakeholders without formal authority.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in a technical, analytical, or business-related discipline.
• Availability aligned with East/West coast time zones.
• Applicants from Canada must not reside in Quebec.
