Principal Product Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Shape Ascend’s AI strategy in collaboration with the AI Team.

• Articulate and relay the product vision to both leadership and the AI team.

• Create a 12-month prioritized roadmap in conjunction with Engineering.

• Manage the product lifecycle from concept to launch, ensuring ongoing iteration and enhancement.

• Identify and spearhead significant transformation opportunities.

• Formulate and implement product strategies that improve operating margins.

• Coordinate and oversee interdependencies across product areas.

• Offer structured input to Engineering and confirm that priorities align with business goals.

• Create ML/LLM hypotheses grounded in customer insights and industry knowledge.

• Collaborate with AI Engineering to define and prioritize ML/LLM experiments.

• Enhance product launch processes and monitor post-launch performance metrics.

• Report outcomes, adjust priorities as necessary, escalate issues, and suggest pivots.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, or equivalent experience and education.

• Preference for experience in ML/AI, development or technical roles, or Taxation and Accounting technology.

• Demonstrated ability to work backward from customer needs to shape product vision and strategy.

• Proven track record of delivering results swiftly and iterating on products.

• Experience managing the product lifecycle from concept to launch.

• Capacity to make data-driven decisions and monitor impact metrics.

• Ability to influence product strategy and align it with organizational objectives.

• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

• Experience in aligning cross-functional teams, including Engineering and Product Design.

• Strong understanding of AI-powered solutions and ML/LLM experiments is preferred but not essential.

• In-depth knowledge of accounting workflows and tax preparation processes is preferred but not essential.

• A Master’s degree is an advantage.
