Principal Product Designer, AI Experiences

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of design for specific feature areas from inception to production-ready Figma files.

• Collaborate within cross-functional teams alongside engineers and product managers.

• Make informed design decisions and effectively communicate design rationale to stakeholders.

• Organize and conduct user interviews, JTBD analysis, and journey mapping activities.

• Monitor both quantitative and qualitative indicators to guide iterative improvements.

• Create AI-driven features, including prompts, fallbacks, and moments for human intervention.

• Investigate future interface paradigms that incorporate AI, ambient computing, voice technology, and autonomous systems.

• Contribute reusable components and design patterns to the IFS design system.

• Implement WCAG 2.1+ accessibility standards and design for edge cases, error scenarios, and real-world data considerations.

• Produce deliverables that are deployed, perform effectively in real-world applications, enhance task success rates, lower UX-related support tickets, and serve as references for future squad initiatives.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 8 years of comprehensive product design experience, from initial discovery to final product launch.

• Proven ability to independently plan research studies, conduct interviews, synthesize findings, and translate them into clear design direction.

• Capability to collaborate within a cross-functional team that includes engineers and product managers.

• Strong proficiency in Figma and a solid understanding of visual design principles.

• Commitment to an accessibility-first design philosophy.

• Thoughtful consideration of how AI impacts interface design.

• Skill in evaluating work through metrics such as task success rates, support ticket volume, and adoption indicators.

• Experience in delivering AI-driven features, including prompts, fallbacks, and human-in-the-loop moments, is a plus.

• Familiarity with design tokens and contribution models may be beneficial.

• Exposure to quantitative metrics such as task success rates, funnel data, or A/B testing results may be advantageous.
