Principal Platform Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Articulate the technical vision for secure, resilient, and scalable cloud platform services that enhance developer productivity and improve customer outcomes.

• Spearhead the modernization of legacy infrastructure and guide application developers towards contemporary, service-oriented deployments.

• Implement platform reliability practices, including Service Level Objectives (SLOs), observability, operational readiness, incident response, and ongoing KPI enhancement.

• Elevate delivery standards through safer deployments, enhanced security measures, robust data protection, and disciplined asset management.

• Enhance developer experience by creating tools, feedback mechanisms, and self-service capabilities that boost engineering productivity.

• Provide mentorship to engineers and influence architecture, standards, and execution across teams through principal-level technical guidance.

• Collaborate with Platform Engineering, Software Engineering, and architecture forums to modernize systems, enhance reliability, and shape platform investments.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of experience in building and operating mission-critical platforms within DevOps, infrastructure, cloud, or software engineering domains.

• Principal-level architectural judgment in areas such as scalability, reliability, security, observability, and operational excellence.

• Advanced proficiency in AWS encompassing compute, networking, storage, identity, containers, serverless, messaging, data, and observability services.

• Extensive hands-on experience with CI/CD, infrastructure as code, Kubernetes, GitOps practices, ArgoCD and related tools, deployment automation, source control, and production scripting.

• Comfortable contributing to cross-functional architecture forums and influencing future platform investments through strong technical insights and collaborative engagement.

• Demonstrated ability to mentor senior engineers, establish lasting standards, and foster a high-accountability culture within platform engineering.
