Principal Network Installation Technician – NIT 4

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Plan and execute intricate technical projects, encompassing survey and engineering through to site implementation.

• Lead, train, evaluate, mentor, and guide Network Installation Technicians.

• Serve as a technical resource while collaborating with customer points of contact.

• Communicate the status of projects, mitigate risks, and address field issues effectively.

• Act as the primary communication link between field installation teams and Project Managers.

• Collaborate with the Master Scheduler to recommend and assign personnel to projects.

• Develop and evaluate field deliverables prior to submission to Project Managers.

• Assist in ensuring that production schedules are met or exceeded.

• Evaluate employee skills, provide constructive feedback, contribute to performance evaluations, and support professional development.

• Create training and procedural documentation for BER testing, platform configurations, deliverables, telecom skills, Telcordia techniques, safe power procedures, site safety, and industry best practices.

• Train teams on site surveys and specialized platforms, including Ciena 6500, RLS, Waveserver, and Cisco DWDM.

• Prepare intricate site reports, documents, diagrams, and VISIO drawings.

• Offer project design support in collaboration with Engineering.

• Provide onsite and remote technical guidance for system deployment, configuration, commissioning, and testing.

• Monitor project challenges and create solutions aligned with schedule, quality, and client satisfaction objectives.

• Conduct ongoing and final job quality assurance inspections.

• Manage equipment delivery and supply issues in coordination with Logistics and external vendors.

• Participate in scheduling meetings and coordinate project assignments, logistics, equipment, test sets, and travel arrangements.


⛳️ Requirements

• Over 6 years of experience specifically related to Ciena 6500 and/or RLS, Waveserver platforms.

• Prior experience in leading implementation teams.

• Active Secret clearance or the ability to obtain and maintain one.

• Candidates can be located anywhere in the US.

• Must be willing to travel at least 70% to CONUS and OCONUS locations as needed.
