Principal Machine Learning Scientist

📋 Description

• Lead and define DISCO’s strategic initiatives in machine learning and AI research.

• Spearhead significant machine learning research projects.

• Foster innovation in algorithm development and methodologies.

• Provide strategic leadership for the organization's research agenda.

• Enhance research processes, workflows, and resource management.

• Oversee large-scale research programs while managing multiple projects and teams.

• Ensure the successful implementation of complex research initiatives.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners.

• Engage with industry stakeholders to comprehend and tackle real-world challenges.

• Promote the application of machine learning solutions to generate meaningful impact in the industry.

• Develop and implement strategic plans for research initiatives and long-term research strategies.

• Participate actively in the broader research community.

• Mentor and support junior and mid-level researchers.

• Lead and manage research teams, encouraging knowledge-sharing and innovation.

• Contribute to the professional development of team members.

⛳️ Requirements

• 12 to 15+ years of relevant experience in machine learning research.

• Proven history of impactful research and leadership in large-scale projects.

• Demonstrated ability to inspire and drive innovative machine learning research.

• Established track record of guiding research teams toward groundbreaking contributions and advancements.

• Expertise in developing and implementing strategic plans for an organization's comprehensive machine learning research agenda.

• Leadership in cultivating a culture of knowledge-sharing and innovation within the research team.

• Recognition for contributions to the wider machine learning research community.

• Thought leadership evidenced by publications, keynote presentations, or participation in industry conferences.

• Proven success in applying machine learning research to address real-world industry challenges.

• Strong collaboration skills, with effective engagement with industry partners and stakeholders.

• Candidates must possess legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.

• DISCO is not currently offering visa sponsorships, including, but not limited to, H-1B, TN, or EAD, and is not accepting visa transfers.

• Operational leadership experience in optimizing research processes is preferred.

• Extensive experience in program management and overseeing complex initiatives is a plus.
