Principal IT Security Project Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North America.

📋 Description

• Oversee intricate, organization-wide cybersecurity projects and manage strategic security programs from inception to completion.

• Lead extensive, cross-departmental security initiatives, encompassing software hardening, identity management deployments, cloud security integrations, and zero-trust strategies.

• Assess project risks, monitor vulnerabilities, and develop mitigation strategies to safeguard business resources.

• Relay project updates, financial information, and security metrics to executive teams and technical personnel.

• Present updates in both concise summaries and detailed technical formats.

• Coordinate solution planning discussions and oversee team responsibilities.

• Identify financial concerns and requirements.

• Ensure project milestones comply with relevant regulatory standards, including SOC 2 and ISO 27001.

• Report directly to the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO).

⛳️ Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in IT project management.

• At least 5 years specifically dedicated to cybersecurity or information security roles.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Business, or a related discipline.

• PMP (Project Management Professional) certification required.

• Security credentials such as CISSP, CISM, or CRISC are preferred.

• Comprehensive knowledge of network security, endpoint protection, threat intelligence, and security frameworks.

• Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams without direct authority.

• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills for converting technical security risks into business terms.

• Ability to work autonomously and demonstrate self-motivation.

• Capacity to collaborate effectively with both executives and engineers as necessary.
