Principal Full Stack Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, implement, document, and maintain web and back-end software solutions.

• Mentor junior team members.

• Coordinate and drive project initiatives.

• Manage outages and emergency situations alongside development and production teams.

• Translate business requirements and wireframes into architectural designs and components.

• Convert technical requirements into effective solution designs.

• Implement, test, and deliver software solutions.

• Create and maintain comprehensive solution documentation.

• Identify, triage, and resolve errors and defects independently or collaboratively.

• Estimate project complexities and break down tasks.

• Conduct code reviews and advocate for best practices and standards.

• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ascertain business requirements and priorities.

• Assist in workflow planning, design, development, testing, and delivery processes.

• Research and assess potential vendors, monitoring technologies, pricing, and suitability.

• Act as the primary contact for key applications and serve as a knowledge resource for production and development staff.

• Participate in disaster recovery planning and preparation initiatives.

• Complete administrative tasks that support company goals and values.

• Build rapport with colleagues, treating others with respect and consideration.

• Execute additional duties as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.

• 8+ years of pertinent job experience, preferably within a banking environment.

• Proficient in developing automation solutions using Python.

• Experience in writing clean and semantic SQL.

• Strong understanding of core web technologies, browser functionality, and styling concepts.

• Proficient in writing clean and semantic HTML and CSS.

• Experience interfacing with enterprise systems through RESTful APIs and standard data formats (JSON, XML, SOAP).

• Knowledge of performance and optimization challenges, with the ability to diagnose and mitigate them.

• Solid understanding of relational and/or non-relational data models.

• Familiarity with CI/CD processes using AWS CodePipeline.

• Working knowledge of cloud-based infrastructures and SDLC pipelines.

• Familiarity with Agile methodologies.

• Availability to work overtime as required.

• Willingness to travel 5% to 10% of the time.

• Must maintain compliance with BSA, OFAC, and bank regulations, policies, and procedures.

• Advanced degree or certification in a relevant field (desired).

• 10+ years of relevant job experience (desired).

• Experience with React (desired).

• Knowledge of contemporary authentication and authorization mechanisms (desired).

• Experience managing vendor partnerships and resolving complex system issues (desired).

• Background in the FinTech industry (desired).
