Principal Forward Deployed Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Collaborate closely with customers to gain insights into their technical needs and operational challenges.

• Create, implement, and tailor production solutions within customer environments.

• Design and develop integrations, automation processes, APIs, and internal tools.

• Convert customer feedback into actionable product and engineering specifications.

• Diagnose intricate technical problems across application and infrastructure layers.

• Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to enhance platform functionalities.

• Take ownership of projects from technical exploration to deployment and ongoing iterations.

• Create reusable solutions that can be scaled across various customer bases.

• Enhance deployment procedures, documentation, observability, and system reliability.

• Serve as a technical advisor and a trusted engineering collaborator for customers.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of experience in professional software engineering.

• Proficient programming skills in Python, TypeScript, Go, or similar languages.

• Proven experience in building and deploying production-grade software.

• Strong aptitude for systems, APIs, integrations, and debugging.

• Experience in direct interaction with customers or cross-functional teams.

• Ability to thrive in dynamic, fast-paced, and ambiguous environments.

• Excellent communication skills and a knack for technical problem-solving.

• High level of ownership and capability to independently manage projects.

• Familiarity with AI/ML systems or infrastructure is a plus.

• Experience with Kubernetes and cloud infrastructure is advantageous.

• Background in a startup or scale-up environment is preferred.

• Experience deploying software in complex enterprise contexts is a bonus.

• Knowledge of LLMs, model serving, or AI agents is beneficial.

• Experience in developing developer tooling or automation is a plus.

• Fluent English is a requirement.

• Must provide United States work authorization status; sponsorship may be needed now or in the future.
