This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.
β’ Develop, integrate, and validate cutting-edge manufacturing equipment and automation solutions for Adhesion & Assembly processes.
β’ Take ownership of assigned equipment development workstreams, which includes design collaboration, integration, commissioning, and factory acceptance.
β’ Collaborate with equipment OEMs, system integrators, and automation suppliers.
β’ Oversee daily technical vendor interactions and critically assess design assumptions regarding manufacturability and scalability.
β’ Assist with equipment architecture, controls strategy, robotics integration, and the implementation of functional safety measures.
β’ Transform manufacturing challenges into practical and resilient equipment designs.
β’ Perform technical evaluations, design reviews, and troubleshooting for automated assembly, adhesive dispensing, bonding processes, and smart torque systems.
β’ Support the deployment of standardized equipment and process platforms across multiple sites.
β’ Collaborate with manufacturing locations, Operations, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, EHS, and other departments to define technical requirements.
β’ Engage in the commissioning, startup, debugging, and handover of new equipment to manufacturing sites.
β’ Create engineering documentation, specifications, test plans, and validation reports.
β’ Offer subject matter expertise for enterprise-level automation and assembly initiatives.
β’ Identify design risks, integration challenges, and performance deficiencies; autonomously propose and implement solutions.
β’ May provide mentorship to junior engineers and assist in enhancing team capabilities.
β’ Support manufacturing technologies, including automated and semi-automated assembly, robotics, smart torque systems, adhesive dispensing, bonding, thermal interface material application, precision joining, vision-guided assembly, process monitoring, and integrated automation cells.
β’ A university degree or equivalent experience with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree in a related field with a minimum of 5 years of experience.
β’ Proven experience with industrial automation and robotics.
β’ U.S. citizenship required.
β’ Demonstrated experience in developing, integrating, or deploying industrial manufacturing equipment.
β’ Proficient understanding of industrial controls, PLC-based systems, and equipment integration.
β’ Knowledge of functional safety and machine safety principles.
β’ Experience working directly with equipment OEMs, system integrators, or automation suppliers.
β’ Willingness to travel both internationally and domestically up to 30% of the time.
β’ Experience in developing automated assembly, adhesive application, bonding, or torque-related manufacturing equipment.
β’ Capability to evaluate and troubleshoot complex engineering solutions.
β’ Strong foundation in industrial robotics, automated manufacturing cells, and equipment integration.
β’ Familiar with commissioning, debugging, acceptance testing, and production ramp support.
β’ Experience in supporting multi-site equipment deployment.
β’ Familiarity with machine vision, precision assembly systems, or material dispensing technologies.
β’ Proven ability to collaborate effectively with vendors and critically assess technical designs.
β’ Strong hands-on problem-solving, root-cause analysis, and technical execution skills.
