Principal Enterprise Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take charge of the technical vision for scalable, high-performance, and cost-effective systems.

• Establish contemporary architectural patterns to facilitate growth, high transaction processing speeds (TPS), and seamless scaling.

• Design and enhance multi-tenant Software as a Service (SaaS) platforms.

• Create self-service workflows, a rules engine, and reporting functionalities.

• Drive initiatives focused on cloud cost-efficiency across infrastructure, model execution, and computing resources.

• Collaborate with AWS Support and Solution Architects to enhance infrastructure optimization.

• Design distributed data-processing pipelines for both batch and real-time workloads.

• Improve data storage, retrieval, and processing layers.

• Facilitate data self-service capabilities for analytics, machine learning, and real-time business applications.

• Ensure compliance with data governance, security, and regulatory standards.

• Advise engineering teams on architectural best practices and effective implementation.

• Coach teams in microservices, event-driven architectures, and cloud-native design patterns.

• Develop technical prototypes and proofs of concept.

• Advocate for secure Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLM), and agentic workflow adoption throughout the development lifecycle.

• Set up AI guardrails and self-service AI functionalities.

• Lead the Jumio Architecture Review Council.

• Establish and uphold architectural standards.

• Coordinate cross-team architectural reviews and address technical debt issues.

• Make informed decisions regarding complex architectural trade-offs.

• Mentor engineering leadership.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 12 years of practical experience in system architecture, data engineering, cloud engineering, or technical leadership roles.

• Proficient in multi-tenant architectures and configurable SaaS platforms.

• Extensive hands-on expertise with AWS, including EKS, IAM, Lambda, and networking.

• Professional experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) is highly desirable.

• Strong background in distributed systems, microservices, event-driven architectures, and caching techniques.

• Practical knowledge of AI/ML model execution, inference performance, cost assessments, and optimization methods.

• Proficiency in designing high-scale transactional systems.

• Familiarity with Terraform, CI/CD, Kubernetes, and Docker.

• Expert skills in Java; strong skills in Python; knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript and Kotlin.

• Experience leading architectural review processes and promoting engineering standards.

• Expertise in integrating Generative AI and ML practices into the software development lifecycle.

• Skill in managing strategic stakeholder relationships and conducting complex financial/TCO analyses for enterprise technology.

• Nice-to-have: experience in high-volume real-time data processing and distributed streaming architectures.

• Nice-to-have: familiarity with petabyte-scale distributed data platforms.

• Nice-to-have: knowledge of fraud prevention, identity verification, or authentication technologies.
