Principal Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Act as the highest-level individual contributor technical authority within the organization.

• Establish global principles, the technical mental model, and long-term architectural guidelines.

• Ensure consistency, efficiency, and reuse across various business domains.

• Set organizational standards for quality, resilience, availability, and security of the technology infrastructure.

• Address complex, unstructured, and unique technical challenges.

• Serve as a technical advisor to the CTO, VPs, and Directors.

• Lead the transition towards AI-First architectures.

• Integrate AI agents into the software development lifecycle and ecosystem orchestration.

• Transform technology trends and academic research into intellectual property and proprietary technologies.

• Align engineering decisions with the financial objectives and long-term corporate strategies.

• Perform ROI analyses and assess trade-offs for multimillion-dollar infrastructure, cloud, and platform initiatives.

• Represent Engineering in technical M&A due diligence, Board meetings, and negotiations with strategic clients.

• Mentor and support Staff Engineers, Principal Engineers, and Senior Engineering Managers.

• Represent the company at international conferences and forums to enhance its technology brand.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in providing technical leadership for distributed ecosystems that operate at exceptional scale, resilience, and availability.

• Proven history of making enterprise-level, cross-domain architecture decisions with influence at the C-level and VP level.

• Advanced knowledge in complex integration patterns, distributed systems, Event-Driven Architecture, and data and security governance.

• Experience in designing, implementing, and governing architectures based on Artificial Intelligence, LLMs, agentic systems, and automation, particularly at AI maturity levels N4/N5.

• Familiarity with technical M&A assessments (due diligence), budget analysis, and financial justifications for technology CapEx/OpEx.

• Capability to translate corporate goals into practical and profitable architectural directions.

• Proficiency in communicating complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences, executives, and boards.

• Ability to critically audit and validate solutions, AI models, and architectural decisions in uncertain contexts.

• Talent for developing advanced technical leaders.
