Principal Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, secure, test, deploy, and provide support for modern software solutions, APIs, portals, automation services, and cloud-native applications.

• Serve as the principal technical owner, delivering technical leadership, overseeing project delivery, managing contractors, owning work packages, and reporting to stakeholders.

• Lead the design of solutions, make technical decisions, and guide development teams.

• Build enterprise applications utilizing Python, Django, Flask, React.js, and SQL.

• Create secure REST APIs and integration services.

• Employ advanced Python development techniques and adhere to best practices.

• Design, manage, and optimize PostgreSQL and SQL Server databases.

• Establish coding standards and provide mentorship to developers.

• Design and maintain Azure DevOps pipelines.

• Implement automated processes for building, testing, and deployment.

• Manage containerized applications using Docker and Azure Container Registry.

• Oversee release management, environmental governance, and deployment controls.

• Collaborate with stakeholders to enhance business processes and achieve customer-focused outcomes.

• Exceptional Python development skills.

• Strong expertise in architecture and solution design.

• Experience leveraging AI to enhance the development process.

• Extensive knowledge of Django, Flask, React.js, and SQL.

• Solid understanding of API-first architectures.

• Proven ability in optimizing performance.

• Experience with Docker containerization.

• Advanced knowledge of DevSecOps, CI/CD, and cloud-native applications.

• Experience leading Agile Scrum delivery teams.

• Excellent communication skills, stakeholder engagement, and documentation abilities.

• Significant commercial experience in developing enterprise applications with Python.

• Familiarity with AI, machine learning, or computer vision technologies.

• Proven track record in designing and deploying production-grade web applications and APIs.

• Experience in implementing DevSecOps practices within CI/CD pipelines.

• Experience in deploying containerized applications to cloud environments.

• Demonstrable experience in unit, integration, functional, and security testing.

• Experience with automated deployment pipelines.

• Proven experience in conducting code reviews and upholding coding standards.

• Must successfully pass the Criminal Records Disclosure and Credit Referencing Process.
