Principal Design Quality Engineer – Optoelectronics

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Lead quality planning initiatives, establish best practices, and ensure quality assurance throughout the entire product development lifecycle from concept to production release.

• Facilitate FMEA, risk assessments, and Design for Reliability methodologies to proactively identify and mitigate product risks.

• Offer technical guidance for reliability, failure analysis, and corrective action initiatives.

• Evaluate and endorse design modifications, component qualifications, and decisions related to manufacturing readiness.

• Influence cross-functional teams and senior management regarding quality, reliability, and risk-informed decision-making.

• Collaborate with suppliers and manufacturing teams to apply and maintain quality standards.

• Ensure the quality, reliability, and manufacturability of next-generation optical transceivers throughout their product lifecycle.

⛳️ Requirements

• BS/MS in Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Physics, or a related discipline.

• Over 10 years of experience in quality, reliability, product, or design engineering.

• Profound understanding of optical components and modules, opto-electronic and electronic devices, and transceiver manufacturing processes.

• In-depth knowledge of FMEA and risk management practices.

• Extensive expertise in reliability engineering and qualification testing.

• Comprehensive knowledge of root cause analysis and corrective action strategies.

• Advanced understanding of statistical methods and data-driven decision-making.

• Thorough knowledge of design verification and validation procedures.
