Principal Data Scientist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with a product development team to utilize data mining, analytics, and machine learning techniques to gain insights into customer product usage, adoption, and outcomes.

• Mentor both junior and senior data scientists and analysts.

• Employ statistical methods to model customer behavior and trends, identifying areas for growth and enhancement.

• Create predictive and descriptive statistical models focused on customer lifetime value and retention.

• Formulate actionable business and product strategies based on data science analyses.

• Collaborate with executive leadership and influence decisions impacting the Autodesk Construction Solutions business.

⛳️ Requirements

• MS/PhD in Mathematics, Physical Sciences, Statistics/Analytics, Computer Science, or a related discipline.

• Strong proficiency in Python.

• Experience with relational SQL and/or NoSQL databases.

• Familiarity with big data platforms such as Hadoop, Spark, and Hive.

• Proficient in statistical programming tools like R, Matlab, SAS, and Python data science toolkits.

• Experience with data science frameworks including pandas, Jupyter, scikit-learn, and TensorFlow.

• Understanding of statistical concepts and analyses, such as hypothesis testing, regression, and experimental design.

• Knowledge of machine learning techniques, including classification, clustering, regularization, optimization, and dimensionality reduction.

• Experience implementing reporting tools such as Domo, Looker, Tableau, and PowerBI.

• Proficiency with data visualization tools.

• Background in customer analytics.

• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex topics to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Proven track record of managing complex projects from initiation to completion.

• Capability to define and collaboratively execute a data science roadmap.
