Principal Data Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• Define and develop the target data architecture for a large-scale cloud transformation project in the financial services sector.

• Design enterprise-level data architecture and target-state data platform solutions utilizing GCP.

• Establish Bronze, Silver, and Gold data lakehouse architecture patterns and standards.

• Develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models for intricate business domains.

• Create data governance frameworks, enforce data quality controls, and set metadata standards.

• Design integration architecture, track data lineage, and map end-to-end data flows.

• Partner with business and technology stakeholders to pinpoint common data elements and enhancements.

• Assist in the development of analysis-ready datasets and reusable data products.

• Provide architectural direction for BigQuery-based solutions and cloud-native data platforms.

• Evaluate cloud migration strategies and target-state architecture alternatives.

• Ensure compliance with security, IAM, and regulatory standards.

• Participate in architecture reviews, technical decision-making, and the establishment of best practices.

⛳️ Requirements

• Significant experience in Enterprise Data Architecture.

• In-depth knowledge of Data Lakehouse architecture, including Bronze, Silver, and Gold patterns.

• Practical experience with GCP architecture design.

• Strong proficiency in BigQuery.

• Experience in conceptual, logical, and physical data modeling.

• Familiarity with data governance frameworks and data quality management practices.

• Experience in integration architecture and data lineage methodologies.

• Understanding of GCP security and IAM principles.

• Background in Financial Markets or Surveillance domains.

• Excellent stakeholder management and communication abilities.

• Experience with Market Abuse or Unauthorised Trading surveillance systems (preferred).

• Knowledge of Vertex AI and machine learning platforms (preferred).

• Experience with regulatory reporting or compliance initiatives (preferred).

• Hands-on experience with Dataflow or Apache Beam (preferred).

• Familiarity with Kubernetes (GKE) (preferred).

• Experience with Terraform and CI/CD tools (preferred).

• Understanding of Java-based enterprise platforms (preferred).
