This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Mexico.

📋 Description

• Review designs, technical specifications, and drawings related to the civil and geotechnical components of dams, hydropower initiatives, levees, and flood control systems.

• Create resource plans, proposals, bid schedules, and cost estimations for dam and water infrastructure projects.

• Analyze and prepare technical reports and evaluation memoranda to meet regulatory standards.

• Conduct site assessments and dam inspections; manage data collection, compilation, and analysis.

• Execute interdisciplinary technical reviews focusing on technical methodologies, adherence to best practices, client requirements, and constructability.

• Provide oversight during construction to ensure adherence to engineering plans and specifications.

• Address construction-related challenges by assessing issues and proposed solutions.

• Manage field exploration and laboratory testing of soil and rock materials.

• Supervise dam analysis and design teams, including evaluations for seismic stability and seepage.

• Lead field quality assurance activities for dam and hydropower construction projects.

• Review contractor submissions and information requests to ensure compliance with contract documents.

• Collaborate with technical experts on business development initiatives and advocate for AECOM's expertise in dam and hydropower.

• Assist upper management in formulating business strategies for dams and hydropower projects.

• Identify and seek out new clients and projects.

• Travel domestically up to 15%.


⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Geophysics, Mining, Geoscience, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline with 10 years of experience as a Dam Engineer, Geotechnical Engineer, Geotechnical Team Lead, or a similar role; alternatively, a Master's degree in one of these fields with 8 years of experience.

• Proven experience in the design and construction of dams and hydropower systems.

• Familiarity with dam safety reviews, applicable codes, and regulations.

• Experience in engineering during construction, resident engineering, and implementing quality assurance and quality control measures.

• Background in reviewing plans, specifications, cost estimates, and technical reports for dams and hydropower projects.

• Experience providing technical assistance to Dams Project Managers, encompassing design, analysis, inspection, and compliance with regulatory standards.

• Experience in conducting geo-hazard evaluations and technical reviews.

• Proven ability in providing project management support, including client relations, contract oversight, planning and execution, and financial management.

• Experience in overseeing slope stability and seepage analyses, as well as designing stabilization measures for dams, spillways, and levees.

• Experience in identifying and pursuing new clients and opportunities aligned with business development objectives.

• Experience in supervising and mentoring staff in geotechnical investigations, analyses, reporting, and construction observation.

• Telecommuting is allowed from any location within the US.

• Up to 15% domestic travel is required.

• Newly hired employees must participate in an in-person Day 1 onboarding at an AECOM office location.
