This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.
• Oversee the preparation, negotiation, and completion of contracts for designated sites.
• Manage the most intricate contract sites.
• Draft, evaluate, negotiate, and finalize study-site agreements.
• Negotiate investigator grant budgets and contract terms within approved guidelines.
• Ensure adherence to negotiation guidelines, approvals, processes, and client expectations.
• Maintain compliance with budgetary guidance, templates, and processes.
• Identify, evaluate, and escalate legal, financial, and operational risks.
• Offer recommendations and alternative solutions for contract negotiations.
• Collaborate with internal departments on site-startup activities and timelines.
• Align contract negotiations with the critical path for site activation.
• Meet target cycle times for site activations.
• Provide training and mentorship to junior team members.
• Participate in country process improvement initiatives and country team meetings.
• Serve as the country subject-matter expert for contract training materials.
• Coordinate with Global Site Contracts to ensure compliance with global processes and corporate directives.
• Conduct periodic quality reviews and peer feedback reports.
• Lead amendment/novation client projects and manage confidentiality agreement negotiations.
• Own and oversee training plans and content for local teams and Contract Specialists.
• Draft and suggest enhancements and revisions to Investigator Contracts documents.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent, along with relevant formal academic or vocational qualifications.
• Over 8 years of relevant experience.
• Consideration may be given to equivalency through a combination of appropriate education, training, and/or directly related experience.
• Proficient communication skills in English and the local language.
• Comprehensive understanding of contract law principles, including business, intellectual property, local tax, and stamp laws.
• Capability to negotiate investigator grant budgets within established parameters.
• Ability to independently train and mentor staff members.
• Capacity to provide insights on country or regional budgetary trends.
• Skills in problem-solving, risk assessment, and impact analysis.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize competing demands, and resolve complex issues.
• Capacity to escalate out-of-parameter issues and propose solutions.
• Proficient in negotiating contracts that serve the best interests of both the company and client.
• Ability to work upright and/or stationary for 6–8 hours daily.
• Capability to perform repetitive hand movements.
• Frequent mobility with occasional crouching, stooping, bending, and twisting.
• Ability to lift and carry 15–20 lbs.
• Proficient in using in-house and off-the-shelf computer software.
• Capacity to communicate, listen, and comprehend information presented verbally.
