This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.
• Oversee the preparation, negotiation, and finalization of contracts related to assigned study-site workloads.
• Manage the most intricate site contracts.
• Draft, review, negotiate, and finalize agreements with study sites.
• Negotiate investigator grant budgets, along with contractual terms and conditions within approved limits.
• Ensure adherence to negotiation parameters, approvals, contractual processes, budgetary guidance, templates, client expectations, and corporate policies.
• Identify and evaluate legal, financial, and operational risks and escalate issues as necessary.
• Offer recommendations and alternative solutions during contract negotiations.
• Collaborate with internal functional departments on site-startup activities and contractual timelines.
• Align contract negotiations with the critical path for site activation to meet target cycle times.
• Provide training and mentorship to junior staff.
• Engage in country process-improvement initiatives and participate in country-team meetings.
• Serve as the country subject-matter expert for contract-training materials.
• Coordinate with Global Site Contracts to ensure alignment with global processes.
• Conduct periodic quality reviews and peer-feedback reports.
• Lead amendment/novation client projects and manage confidentiality-agreement negotiations.
• Own and oversee training plans and content for local teams and Contract Specialists.
• Draft and contribute to improvements and revisions of Investigator Contracts documents.
• Act as a point of escalation and liaison between Country Teams and the Global Site Contracts Team.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent along with relevant formal academic or vocational qualifications.
• At least 8 years of relevant experience.
• Proficient communication skills in both English and the local language.
• Advanced understanding of contract law, including business, intellectual property, local tax, and stamp laws.
• Expertise in negotiating investigator grant budgets within defined negotiation parameters.
• Ability to independently train and mentor staff members.
• Capability to provide insights and feedback on country or regional budgetary trends.
• Strong problem-solving, risk-assessment, and impact-analysis skills.
• Capacity to multitask, prioritize conflicting demands, and resolve complex issues.
• Ability to escalate out-of-parameter issues and propose solutions.
• Skill in negotiating contracts that serve the best interests of both the company and the client.
• Capability to work upright and/or stationary for 6–8 hours each day.
• Proficiency in repetitive hand movements and the ability to make rapid, repeated motions with fingers, hands, and wrists.
• Frequent mobility; occasional crouching and stooping; frequent bending and twisting required.
• Ability to lift and carry 15–20 lbs.
• Competence in using in-house and commercially available computer software.
• Regular and consistent attendance is required.
• An equivalent combination of appropriate education, training, and/or directly related experience may fulfill the requirements.
