This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.
• Oversee and direct the preconstruction phase from initial design concepts to readiness for construction.
• Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, clients, and internal teams to outline project scope, budget, timeline, and objectives.
• Organize and participate in preconstruction meetings with all stakeholders.
• Develop and oversee project cost estimates encompassing materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor proposals.
• Conduct value engineering assessments and pinpoint cost-saving opportunities.
• Create and manage preliminary construction schedules along with detailed timelines.
• Coordinate the involvement of subcontractors, material procurement, and site preparations.
• Identify risks associated with preconstruction and formulate strategies for mitigation.
• Review contract documents for any issues or inconsistencies.
• Maintain comprehensive records and documentation including drawings, specifications, and contracts.
• Provide consistent updates to senior leadership, clients, and stakeholders.
• Lead and mentor the preconstruction team.
• Encourage collaboration and communication among all project participants.
• Sustain relationships with clients, subcontractors, and external partners.
• Act as the primary contact for clients during the preconstruction phase.
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field is preferred.
• A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in construction management or preconstruction is required.
• Demonstrated experience managing intricate construction projects from inception to completion.
• Strong knowledge of estimating, budgeting, and scheduling practices.
• In-depth understanding of construction processes, project management, and preconstruction methodologies.
• Proficient in construction management software, including Procore, Buildertrend, or ProEst.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is essential.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong attention to detail and adept problem-solving capabilities.
• Ability to perform effectively under pressure and adhere to stringent deadlines.
• LEED AP, PMP, or other relevant certifications are preferred.
• OSHA 30-hour certification or equivalent safety training is required.
