Pre-Service Representative

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Louisiana.

📋 Description

• Prepare, validate, and finalize all necessary steps to clear new cases for scheduled services.

• Validate and collect insurance and demographic information.

• Engage with insurance companies through websites, phone calls, or faxes to verify benefits, secure authorizations, identify insurance guidelines, and facilitate communication.

• Collect information to confirm benefits and eligibility utilizing the EPIC system.

• Complete and secure necessary authorizations for services provided.

• Collaborate with clinical providers, the on-site case management team, and LPN/RN or Nurse Auditor in the Pre-Service department.

• Execute Pre-Service collection estimation tasks and communicate patient liability.

• Offer point-of-service information and logistics to ensure an outstanding patient experience.

• Perform additional related duties as needed.

• Stay informed about relevant federal, state, and local laws, accreditation standards, and regulatory requirements.

• Promptly report any known or suspected unethical, questionable, safety, privacy, or compliance-related issues.


⛳️ Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.

• Minimum of 1 year of related experience in a hospital, clinic, medical office, business services/revenue cycle, front-line registration, financial counseling, banking, and/or customer service role.

• Proficient computer skills and dexterity for data entry and retrieval of patient information.

• Strong verbal and written communication abilities.

• Proficiency in Windows-style applications, keyboard usage, and role-specific software packages.

• Excellent interpersonal skills.

• Capability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

• Ability to perform effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

• Capacity to remain calm and professional during high-pressure or stressful patient financial and medical discussions.

• Reliable transportation for travel to other facilities as needed.

• Must adhere to applicable laws, accreditation standards, regulatory requirements, and the employer’s Compliance & Privacy Program and Standards of Conduct.
