This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado.
• Organize and pre-register patients for appointments, outpatient visits, procedures, and other appointments managed by the department.
• Perform administrative tasks associated with the scheduling of appointments.
• Transcribe orders from external physicians.
• Manage a high volume of calls for various locations and departments.
• Utilize multiple systems to execute scheduling functions as required.
• Provide patients with information regarding preparation and location.
• Accurately gather and enter patient data.
• Verify patient insurance and clarify benefits when necessary.
• Handle multiple phone calls, including answering, transferring, and conferencing with various parties.
• Support and mentor new hires as required.
• Advocate for Intermountain Health’s mission, vision, and values while adhering to service behavior standards.
• Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned.
• High school diploma or equivalent, or 4 years of experience in revenue cycle management.
• At least 2 years of experience in revenue cycle management and/or 2 years in a contact center environment.
• Exceptional computer skills with the ability to troubleshoot technical issues independently.
• Basic understanding of medical insurance.
• Intermediate knowledge of computer operations.
• Experience with multi-channel phone systems.
• Typing speed of 30+ words per minute.
• Strong active listening skills.
• Proficient reading comprehension.
• Demonstrated critical thinking abilities.
• Capacity for active learning.
• Competence in complex problem-solving.
• Ability to see and read information, labels, monitors, and to identify equipment and supplies while assessing customer needs.
• Capability to communicate and comprehend spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues swiftly and accurately.
• Manual dexterity to manage intricate and delicate equipment with precision.
• For positions requiring driving, the ability to operate a vehicle and interpret signs, traffic signals, and the actions of other vehicles.
