This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Estonia.
• Identify public relations opportunities within scandiweb, encompassing projects, client engagements, internal discussions, product innovation, research, technical milestones, and market developments.
• Transform complex or mundane subjects into compelling narratives that are worth sharing.
• Design innovative PR campaigns and publicity stunts.
• Generate noteworthy moments even when a strong narrative has not yet emerged.
• Create various media perspectives around key events tailored for different audiences.
• Investigate relevant journalists, editors, newsletter authors, podcasters, content creators, analysts, and industry communities.
• Compose personalized pitches and engage in outreach via email, social media, calls, introductions, events, and other methods.
• Foster long-lasting relationships with media professionals.
• Organize interviews, expert commentary, data, visuals, demonstrations, customer testimonials, and spokesperson preparation.
• Collaborate with content, design, video, data, and development teams.
• Keep track of public discussions, competitor activities, industry updates, and cultural trends.
• Quickly respond to unforeseen media opportunities and align internal contributors.
• Utilize AI and research tools to monitor media, identify contacts and trends, craft angles, and enhance outreach efforts.
• Assess campaign outcomes, document insights, and refine future campaigns based on media feedback and business results.
• Success is gauged by earned media coverage, campaign dialogues, relationships, relevant audience engagement, and supported business initiatives rather than the volume of press releases.
• Ability to perform a practical test that showcases your thinking, storytelling skills, and capacity to transform ordinary business topics into engaging discussions.
• Prior experience in public relations, journalism, communications, creative agencies, content creation, startups, or growth marketing is preferred.
• Proven ability to attract attention, secure media coverage, build an audience, or generate public interest around a concept.
• Strong news judgment.
• Capability to identify intriguing angles in technical, commercial, or everyday information.
• Excellent skills in writing headlines, pitches, and short-form content.
• Proficient written and spoken English.
• Ability to comprehend technical and business topics and convey them in a simple manner.
• Proactive mindset and readiness to reach out to individuals directly.
• Resilience in the face of ignored or rejected pitches.
• Competence in navigating incomplete information and adapting to evolving projects.
• Capacity to manage multiple stories, stakeholders, and deadlines effectively.
• Confidence in communicating with founders, executives, technical experts, clients, journalists, and content creators.
• Ability to work autonomously, make decisions, and take ownership of campaign results.
• Curiosity about media, business, technology, eCommerce, culture, and information dissemination.
• Practical knowledge of social media, online communities, podcasts, newsletters, creator platforms, and other media outlets.
• Existing connections with journalists, editors, creators, or industry media are a plus.
• Experience in eCommerce or technology is advantageous but not mandatory.
