This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland, +1 more state.
• Assist the Director of Media Relations by enhancing World Relief’s earned media visibility.
• Contribute to external writing initiatives while conducting necessary research and outreach.
• Aid in creating communications and media outreach strategies that promote policy and organizational goals.
• Write and revise press releases, talking points, media advisories, statements, spokesperson briefing materials, op-eds, and reports.
• Simplify complex information into accessible communication products in collaboration with policy and technical experts.
• Identify, convey, and share program-related narratives with both local and international offices.
• Track policy changes, news trends, media coverage, and relevant policy issues.
• Create media pitches, organize and schedule interviews, and maintain press lists.
• Establish relationships with journalists, producers, media personnel, and influential content creators.
• Prepare spokespeople for media interactions and manage logistics.
• Generate media coverage summaries, reports, and basic metrics.
• Oversee media tracking systems.
• Monitor communications deliverables and coordinate workflows within the Earned Media team.
• A mature and personal Christian faith.
• Commitment to the mission, vision, and values of World Relief.
• A desire to serve and empower the Church to make a difference in vulnerable communities.
• Ability to affirm and/or acknowledge World Relief’s Core Beliefs, Statement of Faith, Christian Identity, and the National Association of Evangelicals’ For the Health of The Nation document.
• An undergraduate degree or relevant experience in public relations, communications, marketing, journalism, or a related field.
• A minimum of 2 years of relevant earned media experience.
• Strong skills in research, interpersonal communication, writing, and editing.
• Professional proficiency in the MS Office suite.
• Familiarity with media monitoring tools.
• Capability to adapt to change, meet deadlines, and manage competing priorities.
• Willingness and enthusiasm to engage across the political spectrum and advocate for the organization’s nonpartisan approach to policy advocacy.
• Must be able to travel 5–10% of the time.
