This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Design and implement strategies for consumer communications and media outreach.
• Craft storytelling and media initiatives focused on consumers.
• Cultivate relationships with reporters in consumer, personal finance, and mainstream media.
• Proactively propose stories and handle incoming media inquiries.
• Compose press releases, media pitches, Q&As, talking points, consumer-focused blogs, and various communication materials.
• Support narratives related to product launches, credit education, data insights, and financial literacy.
• Collaborate with product teams, analytics, legal, marketing, and other stakeholders.
• Prepare spokespeople for interviews, briefings, and media interactions.
• Monitor media coverage, consumer discussions, and industry developments.
• Analyze earned media performance and provide actionable insights and recommendations.
• Oversee assigned projects from planning to execution.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or a related discipline.
• 4–7+ years of experience in communications, media relations, or public relations.
• Significant experience in consumer-centric communications.
• Experience in financial services, fintech, or similarly regulated industries is strongly preferred.
• Agency experience is encouraged.
• Skill in simplifying complex subjects and creating clear, engaging messages for consumer and mainstream media audiences.
• Understanding of the changing media landscape and the ability to adapt stories for various audiences and platforms.
• Experience in developing press materials and establishing media relationships within consumer, financial, or business outlets.
• Capability to manage communication projects from concept to completion.
• Proficiency in building strong cross-functional relationships.
• Ability to juggle multiple priorities and deadlines with precision and attention to detail.
• Familiarity with PR tools like Muck Rack for media monitoring, outreach, and reporting.
• Proactive, inquisitive, and comfortable taking ownership of tasks.
