This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal.
• Transform marketplace data into engaging narratives regarding pricing, demand, breeds, names, and buyer preferences.
• Develop and manage a comprehensive editorial calendar that spans various markets and seasonal news themes.
• Take charge of trust and safety transparency reporting for journalists and stakeholders in animal welfare.
• Extract compelling regional human-interest stories from breeder reviews, Trustpilot feedback, and support conversations.
• Act as PMG’s press desk and foster relationships with journalists.
• Prepare and equip country leads and founders to serve as spokespeople, providing them with talking points, Q&A resources, and data appendices.
• Conduct preparatory sessions for spokespeople ahead of interviews.
• Expand a successful UK PR strategy across seven markets utilizing AI tools and external support.
• A minimum of 5 years in PR, communications, or journalism, ideally in-house.
• Proven track record of securing coverage in national or significant regional media.
• Experience in data journalism is highly advantageous.
• Demonstrated ability to create narratives from data rather than merely issuing press releases.
• Proficient in using spreadsheets and dashboards to locate and verify information.
• Regular use of AI tools such as Claude or ChatGPT for research, writing, localization, and workflow automation.
• Capability to operate independently, managing briefings for agencies and freelancers.
• Native-level English proficiency, with writing that requires no edits before being presented to journalists.
• Experience in a marketplace or category that is reputation-sensitive and subject to regulatory or campaigning scrutiny is preferable.
• Familiarity with conducting consumer surveys using panels or survey tools is advantageous.
• Knowledge of digital PR essentials, including earned links, newsjacking, and syndication, is preferred.
• A hands-on, builder-oriented mindset.
• Strong clarity, candor, and collaboration skills.
• Based in Europe; residing in the UK, Germany, or Sweden is a minor advantage but not essential.
