Power Plant Commissioning Advisor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee commissioning activities for Gas Power Equipment in Combined Cycle power plants.

• Ensure that systems are installed, tested, and functioning in accordance with project specifications, safety protocols, and operational standards.

• Create commissioning plans, timelines, and execution strategies.

• Collaborate with project management, engineering, construction, and operations teams.

• Assist in the development of system turnover and start-up plans.

• Lead and manage commissioning personnel, subcontractors, and field teams.

• Supervise the testing, inspection, and validation of gas turbines, steam turbines, generators, HRSGs, and auxiliary equipment.

• Diagnose and resolve technical or operational challenges during the commissioning and start-up phases.

• Ensure that systems are prepared for safe and dependable operation.

• Complete and maintain commissioning procedures, test records, punch lists, and turnover documentation.

• Generate progress updates, reports, and technical findings for stakeholders.

• Keep records of system status, deficiencies, and resolutions.

• Advocate for a safety culture and ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations.

• Apply site safety protocols and engage in risk assessments, hazard evaluations, and mitigation planning.

• Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.

• Act as a primary contact for clients, contractors, partners, and regulatory representatives.

• Offer technical guidance and operational support to plant operators and commissioning team members.

• Promote communication among teams to facilitate issue resolution and successful project delivery.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or a related discipline).

• At least 3 years of commissioning experience in the power generation sector.

• Willingness and capability to travel to construction sites within the Americas for extended assignments.

• Strong leadership and project coordination abilities, particularly at installation/construction sites.

• Proven problem-solving and analytical skills.

• Familiarity with relevant industry standards, codes, and regulations.

• Ability to perform effectively under pressure in a fast-paced project environment.

• Excellent communication and organizational abilities, with a keen attention to detail.

• Experience working in cross-functional and multicultural project teams.

• Capacity to adapt to shifting project priorities and site conditions.

• Legally authorized to work in the United States.

• Successful completion of a drug screening (if applicable).
