Power BI Developer, Data Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kansas.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards for the HQ AFRC/A4 Flying Hours Project and authorized portfolio workloads.

• Analyze requirements, user stories, existing artifacts, data models, and stakeholder feedback to establish dashboard and KPI specifications.

• Construct and manage Power BI semantic models, relationships, calculated columns, DAX measures, Power Query transformations, and report-level security/configuration.

• Generate executive visualizations, KPI scorecards, trends, drill-down/drill-through paths, exception indicators, filters, and user-centered navigation.

• Verify source-to-dashboard lineage, data definitions, refresh behavior, and data/visual consistency in collaboration with the Senior Data Engineer / Integration Lead.

• Execute functional testing, broken-link checks, refresh validation, usability testing, performance optimization, and automated UAT execution.

• Reconcile report outputs with authoritative Government data and document validation outcomes, assumptions, and exceptions.

• Maintain .pbix configuration packages, design standards, report inventories, KPI definitions, data dictionaries, user guides, administrator guides, and training materials.

• Prepare training materials and facilitate knowledge-transfer sessions.

• Assist in Agile planning, backlog refinement, sprint demonstrations, defect triage, release readiness, and user-feedback prioritization.

• Monitor dashboard functionality, refresh status, performance, issues, and availability; assist with corrections and documentation updates.

• Contribute to the Portfolio Onboarding Protocol.

• Protect CUI and Government-furnished equipment using authorized systems, tools, VPN/VDI connectivity, and repositories.

⛳️ Requirements

• U.S. citizenship is required.

• Capable of completing a Tier 1 background investigation.

• Must be able to obtain and maintain CAC and required logical access within 15 calendar days after contract commencement.

• Able to manage CUI in Government-authorized environments.

• Bachelor’s degree in data analytics, information systems, computer science, business analytics, mathematics, statistics, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience may substitute for a degree.

• Five or more years of experience in business intelligence, data analytics, dashboard development, reporting modernization, or related positions.

• Advanced experience in designing and delivering interactive Microsoft Power BI dashboards.

• Proficient in Power BI Desktop and Service, Power Query, DAX, data modeling, report design, dashboard performance optimization, and end-user visualization practices.

• Experienced in data validation, report testing, reconciliation, and user acceptance testing.

• Skilled in preparing technical documentation, dashboard configuration artifacts, user guides, and training materials.

• Ability to convert stakeholder inquiries and business rules into measurable KPIs, intuitive visualizations, and traceable data requirements.

• Preferred: Experience with Palantir Foundry, Air Force/DoD or complex operational-data dashboards, Microsoft Fabric, Azure data services, Power BI Premium, SharePoint Online, Government cloud tenants, data pipelines, SQL, data lineage, dimensional/semantic modeling, integration testing, and CUI environments.
