This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +2 more states.
• Operate and oversee the vMix live production system for multi-camera podcast recordings and live streaming.
• Configure and sustain vMix templates, scenes, transitions, and overlays customized for each show.
• Monitor stream health across all platforms and troubleshoot issues in real-time.
• Manage stream keys, encoders, and ingest settings to guarantee broadcast-quality output.
• Set up and maintain NDI feeds, virtual sets, and lower-thirds graphics within the vMix environment.
• Conduct pre-show technical checks and handle post-show recording archival and file management.
• Operate the studio mixing console during live recordings and streams, including Dante protocol.
• Adjust levels, apply EQ, compression, gating, and reverb for broadcast-standard audio quality.
• Manage microphone inputs and address audio issues in real-time.
• Coordinate with post-production for audio cleanup, mixing, and mastering.
• Maintain and calibrate audio equipment.
• Operate and switch between multiple PTZ and manned studio cameras.
• Direct camera movements, framing, and shot selection.
• Configure camera settings to ensure consistent studio aesthetics.
• Manage, label, back up, and deliver recording media and footage.
• Serve as the primary on-site point of contact for high-profile guests, senior executives, and VIP interviewees.
• Brief guests on studio protocols and on-camera best practices.
• Develop and maintain production runsheets, technical riders, and show templates.
• Collaborate with producers, hosts, editors, and marketing teams to ensure seamless episode delivery.
• Demonstrated experience operating vMix in a live broadcast or studio production setting.
• Practical audio engineering experience with both analogue and digital mixing consoles.
• Strong skills in multi-camera production, including PTZ camera operation and live switching.
• Experience in working with and managing VIP or senior-level guests with professionalism and tact.
• Comprehensive understanding of broadcast signal flow, video encoding, and streaming protocols (RTMP, SRT, NDI).
• Familiarity with Adobe Audition, Audacity, or comparable DAW software for post-production audio editing.
• Knowledge of podcast hosting platforms (Buzzsprout, Spotify for Podcasters, etc.).
• Understanding of lighting design and operation within a studio environment.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure — capable of managing live technical issues without interrupting on-air talent.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills — warm, professional, and confident when interacting with high-profile guests.
• Highly organized with a strong attention to detail in both technical setup and scheduling.
• Self-motivated and proactive — takes ownership of the studio environment and continuously seeks to improve processes.
