Platform Security Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and maintain secure software for core platform functionalities.

• Create authentication and authorization systems.

• Ensure secure communication channels between services, including API security.

• Implement secure data storage solutions and access controls.

• Collaborate with engineering and product teams to embed security best practices throughout the development lifecycle.

• Stay informed about security threats, vulnerabilities, and mitigation strategies.

• Conduct security code reviews to identify risks in existing codebases.

• Develop and implement automated security testing procedures.

• Respond to security incidents and engage in incident response procedures.

• Identify and apply security enhancements to strengthen the platform’s security posture.

• Document security processes, procedures, and best practices.

⛳️ Requirements

• BA/BS in computer science or a related field; MS is a significant advantage.

• At least 5+ years of experience in software development with a strong emphasis on security.

• Demonstrated experience in designing and implementing secure authentication and authorization systems.

• Thorough understanding of secure coding principles and best practices (e.g., OWASP Top 10).

• Familiarity with secure communication protocols (e.g., TLS/SSL).

• Knowledge of security testing tools and methodologies (e.g., static code analysis, penetration testing).

• Exceptional problem-solving and analytical abilities.

• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

• Capable of working independently as well as part of a cross-functional team.

• A passion for security and a dedication to building secure and reliable systems.

• Proficient coding skills in Go, Python, Java, C++, or similar programming languages.

• Experience with cloud security principles and tools (AWS Security, GCP Security).

• Background in container security (Docker Security, Kubernetes Security).

• Participation in an AI-focused exercise or discussion as part of the interview process.
