Software Engineer – Platform

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Contribute to the Invoice Simple platform strategy by developing new features and maintaining existing products.

• Take ownership of and enhance CI/CD pipelines, deployment processes, and infrastructure automation.

• Collect requirements, design solutions, implement, and deploy code.

• Collaborate with application teams to enhance service architecture, deployment strategies, and production practices.

• Elevate system reliability, availability, observability, and operational readiness.

• Utilize industry-leading tools to boost team performance and enhance customer satisfaction.

• Work in conjunction with other team members.

• Engage in incident investigations and spearhead improvements to prevent recurring problems.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of professional experience in software development.

• Solid software engineering principles and experience in building production systems.

• Extensive experience with a leading cloud provider, ideally AWS.

• Comprehensive knowledge of distributed systems, networking, databases, and cloud architecture.

• Practical experience with Kubernetes and containerized infrastructure.

• Proficient in using Typescript to create type-safe and well-structured code.

• Good grasp of the JavaScript tooling ecosystem.

• Familiarity with both SQL and NoSQL databases.

• Exceptional analytical and troubleshooting skills.

• Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.

• Knowledge of native mobile development tools.

• Experience in developing an internal developer platform or self-service infrastructure tools.

• Background in database reliability and performance, especially with PostgreSQL or MongoDB.

• Experience in FinOps or optimizing cloud costs.

• Familiarity with working in environments governed by security or compliance standards such as PCI DSS, SOC 2, or similar.

• Experience with progressive delivery, feature flags, canary deployments, or automated rollback strategies.

• Must be eligible to work without sponsorship.
