Platform Engineer – Kubernetes, Linux

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.

📋 Description

• Ensure the security, reliability, and availability of essential systems infrastructure.

• Design and develop scalable, observable, and secure platform architecture.

• Work alongside cross-functional teams to achieve business objectives.

• Provide platforms and services that are highly available, scalable, and resilient.

• Construct, automate, and optimize on-premises containerized and virtualized workloads.

• Create infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD pipelines.

• Offer platform capabilities, tools, and environments that expedite development delivery.

• Advocate for monitoring, alerting, incident response, and post-incident evaluations.

• Enhance platform performance, cost efficiency, and developer experience.

• Contribute to technical documentation, standards, and knowledge sharing.

• Provide escalation support, technical advice, mentoring, and training to team members.

• Take ownership of assigned projects and business outcomes from start to finish with minimal supervision.

• Participate in an on-call rotation for platform reliability and critical incident management.

• Enthusiasm for open-source, modern infrastructure, and continuous improvement.

• Knowledge of the telecommunications industry and its operational and technological landscape.

• Practical experience with Kubernetes, including cluster lifecycle management and performance optimization.

• Advanced Linux system administration and orchestration skills, with a focus on automation and scalability.

• Experience in designing and managing highly available, distributed production systems.

• Familiarity with service mesh technologies such as Istio or Linkerd and multi-cluster architectures.

• Proficient with Infrastructure-as-Code tools like Terraform, Ansible, Tinkerbell, and Helm.

• Knowledge of security-first platform and service design, including secure configuration, encryption, network segmentation, and compliance frameworks.

• Understanding of observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, Otel, and Jaeger.

• Experience with open-source ecosystems and open/industry standards, including CNCF projects, OCI, and IETF protocols.

• Strong foundation in GitOps and automation tools such as ArgoCD, Git, CI/CD, and Flux.

• Familiarity with networking concepts in containerized and virtualized environments, including BGP, load balancing, ingress/egress, eBPF/XDP, and VPP.

• Proficiency in Go or Python for scripting is preferred.

• Strong problem-solving abilities and a leadership mindset.

• Capability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.

• Quick learner with the ability to adapt to changing circumstances.

• Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation.
