Platform Engineer – AWS, Infra-as-Code

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and sustain CI/CD pipelines to automate the build, testing, and deployment processes across development, staging, and production environments.

• Construct and oversee AWS infrastructure, encompassing S3, IAM, networking, and services that facilitate secure file transfers and data movement.

• Transition the IronGate platform from manual configurations to Infrastructure-as-Code, ensuring environments are consistent and reproducible.

• Apply security best practices, which include access control, encryption, and secure configurations.

• Establish and maintain monitoring, logging, and alerting systems for enhanced visibility into system health and potential issues.

• Collaborate with PostgreSQL and other data storage solutions that support the IronGate data pipeline.

• Work alongside the IronGate product team, including developers and product owners, to comprehend requirements and convert them into effective platform solutions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 6 years of experience in roles such as Platform Engineer, DevOps Engineer, Cloud Engineer, or a similar position.

• Proficient, hands-on experience with AWS, particularly S3, IAM, networking/VPC, and security groups.

• Experience in designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines utilizing GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, AWS CodePipeline, Jenkins, or comparable tools.

• Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code tools like Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or AWS CDK.

• Demonstrated experience in implementing security best practices within cloud environments.

• Experience in configuring monitoring and logging systems, such as CloudWatch or similar solutions.

• Strong proficiency with PostgreSQL and knowledge of additional data storage options.

• Comfortable acting as the primary platform owner for a product while effectively collaborating with other technical teams.

• Experience in regulated cloud environments, including AWS GovCloud or settings governed by FedRAMP or DoD requirements.

• Familiarity with AWS Transfer Family and AWS DataSync.

• Experience with ETL or data pipeline tasks.

• Background in supporting web application teams, such as React/Angular, from an infrastructure and deployment perspective.

• Applicants must fulfill eligibility criteria for a U.S. Government security clearance.
